£256 per day plus reasonable expenses – anticipated workload of up to 7 days per month
In accordance with section 88(3) of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016, Welsh Ministers commenced section 81(1) of the 2016 Act which established a Flood and Coastal Erosion Committee. The Committee exercises a wider advisory role covering all flood and coastal risk management in Wales.
The Committee provides a mechanism for effective two way communication with the flood and coastal erosion risk management sector in Wales. The Committee has links with all relevant organisations and the ability to gain data, knowledge and intelligence from all levels of operation and process this into effective advice for Welsh Ministers. In addition, the Committee has the role of effectively disseminating strategic direction for the flood and coastal erosion risk management sector in Wales.
The chief responsibility of the Chair is to lead the Committee and meet the Committee’s overall responsibilities to provide advice to the Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs.
In order to motivate, lead and inspire others to apply their skills to maximum effect you will need knowledge and experience of flood and coastal erosion risk management at a national and international level, and Wales in particular. As well as providing leadership for the Committee, you will be required to develop consensus amongst the Committee members on formulating recommendations to the Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs and to represent the Committee in meetings.
Meetings are a mix of online and face-to-face around Wales, therefore the post is location neutral.

Yn unol ag adran 88(3) o Ddeddf yr Amgylchedd (Cymru) 2016, mae Gweinidogion Cymru wedi cychwyn adran 81(1) o Ddeddf 2016 er mwyn sefydlu Pwyllgor Llifogydd ac Erydu Arfordirol. Bydd y Pwyllgor newydd hwn yn arfer rôl gynghori ehangach a fydd yn ymdrin â phob agwedd ar waith rheoli perygl llifogydd ac erydu arfordirol yng Nghymru.
Bydd y Pwyllgor yn creu mecanwaith ar gyfer cyfathrebu dwy ffordd effeithiol â'r sector rheoli perygl llifogydd ac erydu arfordirol yng Nghymru. Bydd ganddo gysylltiadau â'r holl sefydliadau perthnasol a'r gallu i gasglu data, gwybodaeth a ffeithiau o bob lefel weithredol a throi'r rhain yn gyngor effeithiol ar gyfer Gweinidogion Cymru. Er mwyn ysgogi, arwain ac ysbrydoli eraill i gymhwyso'u sgiliau i sicrhau'r effaith fwyaf, bydd angen gwybodaeth a phrofiad arnoch o reoli perygl llifogydd ac erydu arfordirol ar lefel genedlaethol a rhyngwladol, ac yng Nghymru'n arbennig. Yn ogystal â rhoi arweiniad i'r Pwyllgor, bydd gofyn ichi ddatblygu consensws ymhlith aelodau'r Pwyllgor ynghylch yr argymhellion a roddir gerbron Y Dirprwy Brif Weinidog ac Ysgrifennydd y Cabinet dros Newid Hinsawdd a Materion Gwledig ac i gynrychioli'r Pwyllgor mewn cyfarfodydd.
Maer gyfarfodydd yn gymysgedd o ar-lein ac wyneb yw wyned o gwmpas Cymru ac nid yw'r swydd wedi'i lleoli mewn man penodol.
Mae'n bolisi gan Llywodraeth Cymru i hyrwyddo ac integreiddio cyfle cyfartal i bob agwedd ar ei busnes gan gynnwys penodiadau i gyrff cyhoeddus. Mae ceisiadau’n cael eu croesawu a’u hannog gan bob grŵp ac rydym yn sicrhau nad oes unrhyw ymgeisydd cymwys am swydd gyhoeddus yn derbyn triniaeth lai ffafriol ar sail oedran, anabledd, rhyw, statws priodasol, cyfeiriadedd rhywiol, ailbennu rhywedd, hil, crefydd neu gred, neu feichiogrwydd a mamolaeth.
