Enforcement Officer
Natural Resources Wales
Employer ProfileThe role
As an Enforcement Officer, you’ll be at the forefront of investigating complex environmental offences and supporting enforcement across Natural Resources Wales.
You’ll collect and manage evidence in line with legal procedures, deliver surveillance operations, and provide expert advice on enforcement strategy, warrant applications, and prosecution processes. Due to the nature of this role, you will have the skills and confidence to deal with physically demanding, challenging and sometimes confrontational situations.
Your work will directly influence NRW’s ability to take proportionate, impactful action against environmental crime.
You’ll coach and support colleagues on enforcement techniques, liaise with internal teams and external partners to gather intelligence, and represent NRW in court proceedings.
From responding to incidents and complaints to shaping enforcement policy and promoting a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture, this is a dynamic and high-responsibility role where your expertise will help protect Wales’ environment and communities.
As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the NRW office at the above location (Cardiff, St Mellons) and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
