The role

At Natural Resources Wales, we put the Sustainable Management of Natural Resources (SMNR) at the heart of everything we do. Our goal is to strengthen ecosystem resilience and support the wellbeing of future generations and we need passionate, skilled people like you to help make it happen.

In this role, you’ll bring your expertise to a dynamic, multi-functional team delivering real-world impact in Pembrokeshire.

You'll play a key part in regulation and compliance, focused on water resources, water quality, and land management, contributing to the protection and enhancement of designated sites; managing protected sites by drafting consents, assents, and permissions, alongside proactive engagement and the development of management agreements to safeguard these vital areas; and incident management by providing a timely, effective, and safe response to environmental incidents.

This is your chance to take your skills into the field and onto the map — delivering outcomes that protect and restore the environment, support communities, and shape a more sustainable future for Pembrokeshire and Wales.

As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the NRW office in Haverfordwest and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

To make an informal enquiry about this role, please contact Matthew Lowe at matthew.lowe@cyfoethnaturiolcymru.gov.uk

Interviews will take place via Microsoft Teams the week commencing the 1st December 2025.

Successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) check. Appointments are normally made within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date.
