Looking to kick‑start your engineering career in a role that makes a real difference to people and the environment? This is an exciting opportunity to join our Integrated Engineering team in North East Wales, where you will support the delivery of flood risk maintenance and capital improvement projects that protect communities and enhance the natural environment.

This role is ideally suited to those at the beginning of their engineering journey. It offers hands‑on experience across a wide range of activities, including asset management, health and safety planning, GIS mapping, and emergency response. You will work alongside experienced professionals who will support your development, with clear opportunities to progress into more senior engineering roles as your skills and experience grow.

You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team, working both in the office and out in the field. The role sits within our Operations Directorate and reports to the Team Leader. Your base location is flexible within the region, and you’ll work closely with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders to help protect communities from flooding and enhance the natural environment

As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to an NRW office within North East Wales and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any fieldwork, meetings or training will be planned in advance.

To make an informal enquiry about this role, please contact Craig Davies at Craig.Davies@cyfoethnaturiolcymru.gov.uk

This post will be offered as a Fixed Term Appointment until 31 October 2027

Interviews will be face to face (details of time and location will be shared in advance)

Successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) check. Appointments are normally made within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date.
