Employer ProfileNatural Resources Wales is seeking a proactive Tackling Waste Crime Officer to support the delivery of our Tackling Waste Crime programme across the North East area. You will play a key part in preventing, disrupting and reducing waste crime, helping to protect local communities and the environment.
You will work closely with colleagues in regulation and enforcement, as well as partners such as the Police, Local Authorities and DVSA, to deliver intelligence‑led interventions and respond to incidents and complaints. The role involves gathering and sharing intelligence on emerging risks, trialling new approaches, and contributing to national priorities through collaboration with the virtual tackling waste crime team.
You will have opportunities to lead or support investigations, analyse information, make recommendations for intervention and help develop tools and guidance that strengthen our approach to tackling waste crime. The role offers real scope to build your skills and experience in environmental enforcement while making a visible impact on the ground.
Some flexibility is required, including occasional out‑of‑hours or weekend work, and you may be asked to support priority work outside your immediate area when needed.
As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to an NRW office within the place base / location above and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
